Hashemite University leads the way

with first “Instant DR” in Jordan

Hashemite University, in the city of Az Zarqa, has been selected by AGFA HealthCare Company as a “Success Story” for leading the way with first “Instant Digital Radiography, DR” in Jordan. The University continues to find innovative ways to follow its vision of acting as a pioneering educational facility in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by implementing AGFA HealthCare’s DR Retrofit solution. The “Success Story” has been recently published on all international AGFA HealthCare promotional platforms (http://blog.agfahealthcare.com/hashemite-university-leads-the-way-with-first-instant-dr-in-jordan/ ). DR Retrofit supports research and education goals of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, while enhancing care for staff and students at the university’s health clinic. The new system is characterized by its speed and accuracy, in addition to the ability to reduce the radiation doses received by patients and staff. Furthermore, it facilitates easy transfer of data between the imaging system and the viewing workstations, which are based at the radiologists’ offices, and thus allowing immediate viewing and short imaging procedure time. The instant DR Retrofit solution allows working with the exposure contrast, window leveling, as well as, reducing the costs of consumables – film and chemicals. Moreover, all digital radiographic images are archived to a specialized server in their DICOM format. The latter facilitates retrieving these images in the future and makes them available for teaching the medical imaging students the advanced image processing and analysis techniques. 

This project was proposed and supervised by Dr. Ali Al-Radaideh during the period  (2016-2017)
